Ed & Ed-D
Ed and Ed-D (pronounced “Eddy”) are bonded brothers that joined us in December 2022. At first glance, it’s difficult to tell them apart but there are subtle differences if you look closely. Ed has a totally pink snout and a pink belly and neck. Ed-D has a dark smudge next to his left nostril and a dot above his right eye.
The boys were surrendered by their owner to BARCS in Baltimore City, along with a 3rd pig that did not survive her spay surgery. We are not sure of their age or history, but they appeared to be 1-2 years old when they arrived at the sanctuary—still very much piglets. Potbellied pigs continue to grow and mature until they are at least 3 years old.
The boys are sweet, gentle and happy to accept love, attention and any delicious treats a visitor might offer! They are learning to be part of a large, active herd of young pigs.
