Comet is a handsome all-black boy that joined the sanctuary in the summer of 2022. You can tell him from the other black pigs by looking for the pink mark right between his nostrils that looks like a flying bird.

Comet was 5 years old when he was surrendered by his family. He was spending most of his days confined due to nipping his family and digging in the yard. The confinement likely contributed to his frustrations and exacerbated the behaviors.

Comet is very shy and not yet ready for human contact, but he has settled in nicely with his herd. He is now living as a pig should live—in a herd with friends of his kind and with unlimited opportunities to root, nap and wallow. As time passes, we hope that he learns he can trust the people at Whispering Rise and consider us friends.
