Meet Harmony, our petite girl silver-tipped beauty. She loves to be loved, begging for attention and belly rubs. Don’t start the belly rubs unless you have lots of extra time. She will let you know with a nip that it is NOT time to stop yet!
Harmony was the Christmas gift to an eager 11-year-old. She begged her parents and petitioned their home-owners association to add a clause allowing potbelly pigs as pets. To her surprise, the campaigning worked and she got her piglet, shipped from a commercial breeder. Harmony was so tiny she still needed to be bottle fed. She was loved by her human family, but as she matured without a companion pig, she saw the family as her herd and became aggressive to establish her place within that herd. The family learned, as many do, that while pigs are as smart (and maybe smarter) then dogs, they do not fit in a family the same way. Sadly, they had to relinquish Harmony to Whispering Rise.
Harmony is still loved and visited by her former family on occasion. These days, she can be found darting among her new friends, grabbing berries at mealtime, and savoring every ear and belly rub she gets.
